PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department signed a consent agreement with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to reduce the infiltration/exfiltration/inflow in its sanitary sewer collection system.

The scope of services for the program included:

  • Cleaning and smoke testing
  • Evaluating and surveying
  • Reporting and rehabilitation of the gravity sewer system

Mr. Edwards, a Professional Engineer for George & Associates Contractors, Inc., was the Project Manager assigned to oversee the execution of the following tasks:

Document Control: catalog, code and file reports and other documents related to the project. Prepare filing system and maintain files for magnetic videotapes.

Database Coordination: check the accuracy of data input into the Microsoft Access Database. Ensure that information in the database coordinated with document control information. Sort and query data for the preparation of reports for the client.

Video Review: review of Client videos of pipes and manholes in the sewer system. The video captured defects such as cracks in pipes, collapse of section of pipe, breakage of manhole, opening of joints of various types.
